Birth Control Pills and Increased Blood Lipids

Over the years, birth control pills have changed and today, there are several generations of oral contraceptives. Each acts differently on the incidence of dyslipidemia, may increase the concentration of blood lipids. This paper will develop the interaction between both drugs.

There are different generations of birth control pills, today the third generation pills containing ethinyl estradiol dose six times smaller than the first generation pills.

These considerations are important for interpreting the effects produced by the interaction of oral contraceptives and dyslipidemia.

Krill Oil, Food Source of Omega 3

Krill is a crustacean similar to shrimp. While food is the main species of marine animals, food is also very rich in healthy nutrients to human health. This crustacean can get different products, among which oil can be mentioned. This property is to be rich in omega-3 acid, thus becomes an ideal food for treating dyslipidemia.

In nature there are all kinds of foods, some better known than others, and no less important. A clear example of these is the krill, shrimp-like crustacean that is found in the oceans.

For many years there have been studies on the nutritional properties of krill, concluding that this is an important source of antioxidants and omega 3 fatty acids that can treat diseases such as dyslipidemia. (more…)
