Candy Sweet can Lower Good Cholesterol

A scientific paper published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, provides a link between excessive consumption of sweet and low levels of HDL cholesterol. This brings with it the emergence of risk factors that may lead to the development of heart disease. In this study, detailing how sweet can lower good cholesterol and how this influences on cardiovascular health.

Due to increasingly high consumption of sweet foods, Emery University in Atlanta, United States, conducted a study on the impact of excessive consumption of sweets on plasma levels of good cholesterol or HDL.

Until now if a person suffering from high cholesterol, are recommended to control the intake of foods high in fat (sausage, snacks, etc.). But as a result of this research, which found a direct relationship between consumption of sweet and low HDL cholesterol concentrations in blood, the recommendations will surely be expanded. (more…)

The Scarsdale diet

The Scarsdale diet had its heyday in the 1980s and 1990s. Founded by an American cardiologist, this method is based on a low calorie diet.

American cardiologist, Scarsdale realized by treating former prisoners of war in Vietnam, those who experienced the internment camps – and therefore a very limited supply – were of a cardiovascular standpoint, in much better conditions than those who remained at the front. He deduced this paradoxical finding that hyponutrition the first had proved more beneficial than the hypernutrition of seconds. Scarsdale has used it to develop his method.
